Consultant - Client Services
Whether it’s hunting for dim-sums in China Town, working for Major Agencies, or practicing mindful meditation – Dulcie Kind-Griffith does it all! Starting as a resourcer, Dulcie now works as a consultant on our Client Services team, hiring for integrated agencies on a permanent basis.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I joined the Client Services team about a year and a half ago – previously working in luxury fashion recruitment. Both of my parents are in the advertising industry; my mum actually used Major Players for her hiring!
What is a day-in-the-life of Dulcie like?
I’m an early bird and do my best work in the morning – I also can’t function without a cuppa first! After work you can find me in China Town eating dim sums or on the sofa with my sister watching RuPaul’s Drag Race. Meditation also helps me let go of the day behind me and focus on the one ahead, so I’ve been doing this every night for 6 months straight!
What moments/achievements at Major Players have helped shape your career?
Honestly, I get a buzz every time I help someone achieve their dream job - especially if they’re unhappy in their current role or a big pay increase is achieved. I love seeing how happy people are when they get a new job; one of my lovely candidates dropped me in a big bunch of lilies and a handwritten note…I still have it! It’s a great feeling when candidates come back to me a year or two on as well.
Is there a favourite quote/motto you like to live by?
I like “Lost time is never found again” by Benjamin Franklin. Time is the one thing you can’t obtain more of. I also believe spending an hour on doing something for yourself is essential – that’s 5% of your day and you owe it to yourself!
What advice would you give to potential applicants?
Your own individuality and personality is so important to being a good consultant, not just your skill set or education. Being nice goes a long way.
